Due to growth within our Audit Function, we are looking to recruit an additional Audit Senior to join our team based in our Shrewsbury office.Â
As an Audit Senior, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing audits for a portfolio of clients. You will manage and mentor junior staff, liaise directly with clients, and ensure the successful delivery of audit services in accordance with regulatory requirements and firm standards. Your role will involve both technical expertise and the development of client relationships, and you will be expected to work closely with Directors and managers to drive business growth and deliver exceptional service.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, lead and execute audits for a diverse client base, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant regulations.
- Supervise and develop junior staff, providing on-the-job training and performance reviews.
- Review financial statements and audit working papers, ensuring high-quality work and timely completion.
- Liaise with clients to resolve queries, discuss findings, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports and presentations for senior management and clients.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting standards and auditing techniques.
- Assist with the planning and budgeting of audit assignments, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of work.
Key requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
- Proven experience in audit, with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within public practice.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a passion for team development.
- Proficiency in audit software (for example CaseWare, ProAudit) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on problem-solving and delivering high-quality results.
