Due to growth within our Audit Function, we are looking to recruit an additional Audit Senior to join our team based in our Shrewsbury office.Â
This role aims to uphold the highest standards of quality and client care within the sector. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Audit Senior seeking a new challenge or a Semi-Senior ready to take the next step.
The ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA-qualified or in the later stages of their qualification, with a strong pass record. You should have excellent attention to detail, be analytical and proactive, and be willing to share knowledge and train colleagues. The ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure is essential. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must, along with the confidence to build rapport and manage professional relationships with clients. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential for effectively engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies.
- Request missing information and resolve queries directly with clients by phone or email. Update accounts to the final stage following resolution of queries.
- Liaise with clients to ensure accounts comply with accounting standards.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver audits in accordance with ISAs, including attendance at client premises.
- Support and mentor junior staff during audits while reviewing and providing feedback on their work.
- Attend pre-year-end and closure meetings, contributing alongside the Manager/Director.
- Take ownership of the audit findings report and overall file.
- Manage all aspects of your work to ensure timely, cost-effective completion of client assignments to the intended standard.
- Adhere to job budgets for all work under your responsibility.
Job role requirements:
- Qualified or nearly qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant with audit and accounts experience.
- Proven capability in a similar role, with experience in a practice setting.
- UK Company Audit experience.
- Adaptable and willing to work as part of the team.
- Easy travelling distance to the Shrewsbury office.
- Full driving licence.
