A Shropshire Managing Director has added another qualification to her already impressive skills.
Helen Thomas leads the team at Dyke Yaxley Chartered Accountants, in Old Potts Way, Shrewsbury.
And now she has successfully completed her Diploma in Charity Accounting which means she can offer specialist advice to charities all over the county.
“I’m very pleased to have completed this course as it gives me another skill to help local organisations ensure they are operating cost-effectively and complying with the tough financial regulations that the charity sector faces.
“It has been a very interesting and rewarding course, and it will give me the opportunity to put my specialist knowledge to excellent use in helping good causes in the local area.
“At Dyke Yaxley, we are committed to supporting local charities and organisations, and my new skills will be another asset to add to our services.
“Charities and not-for-profit organisations need to comply with very specific legal, accountancy and tax legislation, and our team helps to ease the difficulties these groups have to deal with.”
The Dyke Yaxley specialists help charities to prepare accounts that comply with legislation and accounting standards, and advise on Gift Aid repayment claims.
They can also prepare annual returns for the Charity Commission, and help with VAT and tax issues, and organisational structures.
