Representatives from the overseas office of Dyke Yaxley (Dyke Yaxley USA) took a trip back to the UK for a conference hosted by the British-American Business Council.
Christy Woskobojnik is a tax manager for Dyke Yaxley USA, based in Cleveland, Ohio, and she was invited to be a panellist on the BABC’s 2018 Annual Transatlantic Conference.
“Once a year, the BABC brings together members of all its 23 chapters throughout the US, Canada, and the UK, at its Annual Transatlantic Business Conferences, for a two-day programme of high-level business discussions and networking,” said Christy.
“The conference has previously been held in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Washington, and San Francisco, and this year’s event saw 250 senior executives from across the BABC network attending.”
The conference uses panels to discuss topics that affect SMEs as they decide to venture across the Atlantic to grow their businesses. Discussions centred around economic challenges, education, and cross-border market analysis, data flow, economic challenges and taxation.
Christy served on a panel moderated by John Simmons, Counsellor for Commercial Affairs from the US Embassy in London, and the panel focused on the opportunities – and the challenges – for SMEs looking to expand in the US market.
Christy has more than 20 years’ experience with privately-held companies in the professional services, transportation and manufacturing industries.
“At Dyke Yaxley, we are uniquely positioned to understand the opportunities, challenges and rising costs facing companies with international operations, as well as the complexity of planning and preparing taxes for clients living and working abroad.
“With offices on both sides of the Atlantic, including our head office in Shrewsbury, our team of over 100 experienced staff provides business tax and advisory services, specialising in international tax planning and compliance.
“I’m extremely proud to be part of such a knowledgeable and professional team, and to have been given the opportunity to represent my colleagues at such a prestigious event,” said Christy.
