Solicitors from all over Shropshire have praised our Breakfast Club which was set-up specifically to help them learn more about the latest major tax planning issues.
We launched the “Solicitors’ Breakfast Club” in response to a growing number of requests from local law firms.
And now the first year’s programme has run its course, and our tax experts are already planning events for the next term which is due to begin in the Autumn.
Four specifically themed sessions have been held at our offices in both Shrewsbury and Telford, led by our Tax Director, Tony Elliott and Tax Planning Consultant, Pam Mason.
The latest seminar tackled inheritance tax planning and delegates heard about available IHT relief, and the best way to use Trusts as part of lifetime planning.
Managing Director, Laurie Riley, said: “We launched the Breakfast Club in response to a number of requests from Solicitors across the county for updates on specific accountancy-related topics.
“We’ve been delighted with the response from lawyers who have attended and we specifically themed our presentations around the four key topics we’d received the most enquiries about – commercial property, residential property and tax issues, employee share schemes and lifetime inheritance tax planning.
“The timings of the seminars were designed so that the working day wasn’t interrupted, with a 7.30 am start and a finish time of 9.00 am, and the solicitors who joined us said this had made all the difference when it came to their decision to attend.”
Tony Elliott said: “It’s great to see our seminars have been so well-received, and we’re looking forward to developing another series of hard-hitting and relevant presentations for future events.”
Pam Mason said: “We’re always keen to help local professionals expand their knowledge when it comes to tax planning issues and it’s particularly pleasing to deliver seminars that tackle situations that our members have actually faced.”
